Dear Brian:

It is not my place to judge anyone, nor has it ever been my intention. 
God has left that up to the Lord Jesus.  Please forgive me for giving
that impression.

I believe that we should be like Jesus, John 13.  That whatever we do
should bring Glory to God. 1 Corinthians 10:31.  I believe that the
Christian should emulate the Lord in EVERYTHING we do.  We should not
cause offence to, or cause our weaker brothers and sisters to stumble.

Jesus gave up everything to become our Savior - we should be able to give
up everything  (including strong drink, tobacco, etc.) to be His
servants.
