Jerry, It wasn't just the comment that was made but the seeming attitude that accompanied it. And, there was the idea put forth that the discussion was useless and made him sick. Further, it wasn't the question that was the "hot potato" that brought several responses, it was the way the question was put forth. Since there was just disagrement, and very mild and civil disagreement, what would be the purpose to inject the words "lying" and "delusional" or "slashing and burning". if not to inflict a wound for the purpose of "festering." I know you champaion the cause of experience as the main reason for holding to the belief of active sign gifts. Others, like myself, hold to the Word of God as our supreme authority. So there is discussion, disagreement, denial, and dialogue. But where does that equal "Hate-filled diatribe?" Those are strong words Bro. Jerry. Why did you use them? Or, was this an admission? I'm not sure how to take them so I'm asking for some clarification lest I misunderstand your point. Now, to another point you bring up, there is love and unity in the body of Christ, the church, in North Lewisburg, Oh. I trust there is there in Camden (I think that is where you are) as well. We are seeking to reach the world from where we are. The post that started this line of posting seemed to me to be a complaint about the particular discussion that was underway. The conclusion seemed to be that there would be no use discussing this topic or any number of other topics because there would be no change of minds and no agreements. So the idea of stopping the discussion is not that far fetched. > Craig, > > I don't think he tried to stop anything ... he just made a comment about > the discussion ... and asked a question about the attitude of some > toward those brothers in the Lord who do believe in spiritual gifts and > practice the gift of tongues.
