Why I posted my post. I have been reading through some books lately and reread about the controversy in the Middle Ages between some theologians on whether it was just to read non-Christians writings or secular writings. When reading upon the controversy, the group who said no did so because they felt that "worldly" books were to be read as it would be we were worldly and reading worldly philosophies. The exact same argument is made by some who say we cannot listen to "worldly music" or "worldly lyrics" any of the other "worldly" issues. I wanted to hear what some would say but overall, I think the book issue is the same as many other issues. The vast majority of theologians and church history seemed to come down that as long as it was not sinful in itself, the books were appropriate to read. Like television, most all on television is not "Christian" but what is wrong with watching "Monk", which is worldly but we can watch without sinning. We can listen to music without sinning. Thus, when we hear all the "worldly" talk of some segments, where do we draw this line? Books? Music? etc. That is why I asked the question... Now I invite more thoughts. Derick
