Another argument for total immersion is found in Greek word for
baptism. Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway
out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the
Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
. baptizo ; to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet) in other words to immerse
fully

Paul declared the Gospel to us in
I Cor 15:1-4
Baptism would be a pic of the Gospel.....
death
burial
ressurection
btw.....I use the KJV of the Holy Scriptures....
and where the Eunich and Phillip went DOWN into the water and
he baptised him....
is in the KJV of the Bible
other ecumenical versions that some baby baptizers use do not have
some of these references in them ie...niv ....
hope this helps....

I'll be jiggered! I have been reading the wrong "bible" for years. Fidel,
would you refer me to the one you preach from. I have been wrong all these
past years. You said, and I quote: "Sadly, most Christians are not aware
that the Church of Christ adds baptism to the Gospel." I will be frank with
you; I thought Matt. 28:19,20; John 3:15-17, and many other references to
baptism were part of the gospel!!!! Fidel, I am not talking about whether
baptism is necessary for salvation; I am just referencing your quote that
"...the Church of Christ adds baptism to the Gospel." I look forward to
reading the Bible you read; of course, absent an references to "baptism" in
the gospels. In Christ, jerry
