jack,

this is great - because i had this discussion recently
with another group - and i held to your point - but in
reading the original autograph i have come to another
conclusion :)

the idea of making a disciple is the key - and the
"way" that is done is by baptism and teaching - it is
not an "order" - make disciple - baptize - teach - it
is that to make a disciple one needs to be baptized
and taught - and that can start at any age :)

keep in mind that human, way after the original was
pened, put in the periods and commas - the original
reads without periods, commas and paragraphs :) we
added them - it is by looking at the original text and
noticing things in the structure of the sentance that
we develop a understanding of what is ment :)

John, I have not been following this discussion all
too closely. However, your questions have sparked a
response.

Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go
ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with
you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Jesus says to "make disciples" and then tells us to
baptize them.

Note the order. I have many Christian friends who
have not received believers' baptistm after being
saved. I can not agree with them because the pattern
in the Testament is salvation first, and believer's
baptism next. I still love them and agree to
disagree, but I am yet to find a single infant baptism
in Scripture. And please don't tell me that
circumcision is the equivalant of infant baptism.

Should everyone who believes be baptized? See the
Scripture above. What does the Lord Jesus say?

Blessings in Christ,

Jack
