The whole point of the book seems to be to discredit the Bible by showing how ridiculous it would be to live according to it's commandments. And it IS utterly ridiculous for an unbeliever to attempt to please God by following a bunch of rules. The author completely misses the point of the entire Bible -- our obedience to God's commands comes from a transformed heart. Hebrews 11:6 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (BTW, you know I was being satirical about Wallis and Spong, right?)
