ESV James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point
has become accountable for all of it.

The author is guilty of breaking the 1st Commandment, to love the Lord
with all of his heart, therefore God views him as guilty of breaking
every commandment including murder, adultery, etc.

We aren't born morally neutral, Jerry, we are born guilty. We rebel
against God with every thought, word, and deed that is not motivated
out of love for God.

Even our good deeds are filthy rags. Is it wrong to not commit
murder? Of course not. But if my motivation for not committing
murder is anything but love for God then even that increases my guilt
before Him.
