I've read a couple of Gail Riplinger books and they seemed rather gracious
to me. Perhaps it one of perspective. I didn't feel threatened by what she
wrote. Not sure I agree with everything she writes but not bothered by it
either.

Amen and Amen. Just reading "The King James Contorversy" illustrates that.
James White never uses acrimony but is kind and gracious. That must be
admitted regardless of whether one agrees with him or not.
On the other hand, Gail Riplinger, Ruckman and others are very hateful in
their speach. Anything but gracious and godly.

>MessageWithout becoming a part of this from a debate stand, you know that I
have very little respect for David Cloud's work. In my personal opinion I
feel that Cloud's work is biased at best and dishonest at worst in many
areas. If we are going to trot out source writers and compare pedigrees I
don't think it would be honorable to God. The key is how does one describe
or address the ones with whom they disagree? You will never see James White
write such vitrolic angry posts as the one who claims to Spank Him. That is
what weakens a persons work. To say such things and put forth such labels
shows weakness not strength!

by James White (1963- ) (Minneapolis: Bethany House Publishers, 1995, 286
p.). White was educated at Southern Baptist Grand Canyon University and at
Fuller Theological Seminary, both hotbeds of New Evangelical (and worse)
compromise. It does not surprise me to see him parroting the tired theories
of the undependable textual critics. What does surprise me is how widely
White's book has been accepted in Fundamental Baptist circles.
