Mike,
I understand your concern, but I do not think anyone here is saying
that we can only use the original languages to fully grasp the truth of
God's Word. We have the Word of God in English (in many versions) and
for this we can be thankful and rejoice at God's mercy toward us. But
it has always been a key principle of the Church throughout history that
in order to settle matters of doctrine - we must always consult the
texts in the original languages. That is why any reputable Bible
college or seminary teaches Greek and Hebrew. Knowledge of the original
languages and having the ability to study the Biblical texts in the
original languages opens up a door for further understanding. Like
anything else this can be abused and misused - but those negatives
should not keep one from pursuing these studies.

Peace,
Steve
