Good question Jerry. Sometimes when I hear the KJV read I thinik it is
a different language. There are many good newer translations that are
more readable than the KJV (some based even on the same manuscript
tradition of the KJV). I personally find the KVJ difficult to read and
understand - I have enough trouble reading and understanding common 21st
Century english let alone the Ye Olde English of yesteryear. It may be
written at a 6th grade level, but we have to remember that was a 17th
century 6th grade level. Much in language has changed over 500 years.

just a little slow,
Steve
