From the Editor: WorldNetDaily.com has been very open to PZ's use of their articles and website content over the years, and I have grown to develop a great respect for Joseph Farah and WorldNetDaily.com. I would like to see WND be able to expand their emphasis and focus and want to do what I can to be of assistance. I'm making a personal donation to Mr. Farah's efforts to purchase an "All News" Channel and would ask you, our PZ readers, to prayerfully consider if the Lord would lead you to make a contribution to this effort. If you feel led to give to this, please do so. If you don't, you are under no compulsion nor obligation to do so. I simply wanted to let you know what Mr. Farah is doing and to give you an opportunity (either through an email note of encouragement or a tangible gift) to say "Thank You" for their past and present support of Prophezine. "OK, let's see," said Farah. "Al Gore's a radical environmentalist who says in his book he wants to outlaw the internal combustion engine that powers all of our cars. And while he was Clinton's right-hand man he found it extremely difficult to distinguish between truth and fibs - which he told a lot of. Now he wants to run a news operation?" And something else was gnawing away at Farah. "Gore is also the reason WND is currently being sued for $165 million. His top fund-raiser in Tennessee was unhappy with our investigative stories on Gore - a series many believe turned the tide against Gore in his home state and cost him the presidency." He's suing us for defamation. "Where's the justice in all this?" Farah mused. Then it hit him. Gore is aiming to acquire this news network - a Frankenstein being described as a synthesis of CNN and MTV - by leading a team of investors raising $70 million to acquire Canadian-based cable network Newsworld International from Vivendi Universal Entertainment. "What if we beat him to it and bought the network first?" asked Farah, never known for being small-minded. "If every one of our readers donated just $15, we would have enough money to buy - for cash - that network out from under Al Gore," said Farah, pushing buttons on his calculator wildly. "But," he added wistfully, "though it's a nice dream, we won't raise $70 million, or anything like it." "And yet," he said again, his spine straightening, "it will keep our dream alive and move us steadily in the direction we must go." WorldNetDaily, you see, has very large dreams - possibly even larger than Al Gore's. For while Gore claims just to have invented the Internet, WorldNetDaily has actually pioneered the Internet news business to change the news media culture in America. WND is currently the world's largest, independent news website, and ranks in the top 400 of all websites of any kind, according to the independent traffic ranking service Alexa.com. In addition, for at least three years WND has been No. 1 among all newssites in time spent per user, and for nearly two years it ranked as the "most popular website in the world" in rankings by the independent European website Global100.com. But WND's goals will take it far beyond the Internet. "Very simply," said Farah, "WND aims to expand its reach and sphere of influence until it profoundly changes the news and information culture of America to that befitting a free nation - the greatest and freest of all nations. When the press truly fulfills its mandate of holding government accountable, and of exposing evil in all its forms, and championing good in all its forms, America will be much closer to what its founders envisioned than it is today." But back to Al Gore. "We're already big on the Internet," said Farah, "and our nationally syndicated radio show is a big hit. Ultimately, we intend to move into television - that's been our plan from the start. And so," he concluded, "even if we don't raise $70 mil to purchase Al Gore's 'weapon of news destruction' - and we won't, of course - we will be able to stay in the race and beat these guys later. First in court with the lawsuit that's draining us, and later in the press - when we accomplish our journalistic goals, as we fully intend to do." How can readers help? "Voluntary subscription donations have been the lifeblood of many 'free' newspapers over the years," explained Farah. "And they are making a huge difference with supporting and enlarging WorldNetDaily - which is, after all, free to all." To support WND with your "voluntary subscription," there are a couple of options: 1. You can make a one-time voluntary subscription payment to WND of any amount - whether it's $15 or $50 or $500. http://www.shopnetdaily.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=81 2. Or you may choose an amount you would like to donate each month for your voluntary subscription payment and it will be deducted from your credit card during the first week of each month. (Just call or e-mail WND if you ever want to cancel.) http://www.shopnetdaily.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=1194 As yet another alternative, you may send a check to WorldNetDaily.com, P.O. Box 1087, Grants Pass, OR 97528. (Be sure to mark your check "voluntary subscription payment.") "Whatever you are able to do, please know that all of us at WorldNetDaily deeply appreciate your support," concluded Farah. "We hope you agree it's a good investment. After all, imagine that the only WND around was Al Gore's 'weapon of news destruction.' We don't intend to let that happen." * Make a one-time voluntary subscription payment to WND. http://www.shopnetdaily.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=81 * Make a monthly voluntary subscription donation to WND. http://www.shopnetdaily.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=1194 The Bible Prophecy Website www.prophezine.com PO Box 640 Russellville AR 72811 To Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://www.prophezine.com/text/lists.asp
