BASIC R.C. BELIEF A place or state where souls of O.T. saints were detained until the Resurrection of Christ, and a place or state of natural happiness for unbaptized babies (CATHOLIC WORD BOOK, Knights of Columbus, p. 27). Although never formally defined, it has been the universal Roman Catholic belief for centuries.

POST VATICAN II There has never been an official statement doing away with this doctrine, but it has been disregarded by most Roman Catholics today, the majority of whom nevertheless, insist on immediate baptism for any infant in danger of death.

One suggested theological solution to the plight of unbaptized babies is to apply to them the baptism of desire since, it is argued, they would have desired baptism had they lived to maturity.

What an idiotic notion!
Does not Romans state all to be unrighteous.

Those made alive in christ shall first rise, those dead in transgression shall have their decision honoured, the LORD shall leave them, as requested.

The LORD is loving and merciful may that be our comfort in all hardship, but don't insult his majesty.

To suggest different *levels* of salvation is to question the Christ's sufficency in bring it.

Sacraments are useful in remembrance of the sacrifice of Christ, but to turn them into means of salvation is to turn, blinded from the truth, and spit on the one who has offered you life eternal.

May the Roman Catholic Church remember her bridge-groom, and stop abusing him.
Jesus alone saves, tradition is dust and religion died with his rising.
