                          Spiritual Strength and Power
through the Father, the Son, and the Spirit

We have peace in this knowledge:

1JOH 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

ROM 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor

angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to
come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our
     Lord.

First, there are only two types of spirits:

1JOH 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 1JOH 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come

in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist,
whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it
     in the world.

Spirits of God: Angels

HEB 1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? HEB 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Spirits of antichrist: demons, unclean spirits, etc.

JOH 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to

destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might
     have it more abundantly.

MAT 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. MAT 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I

came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and
     garnished.
MAT 12:45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits
more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the
last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be
     also unto this wicked generation.

GAL 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other

gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be
accursed(Str# 331 anathema: to be banned).

In the New Testament, the word power is translated mostly
from two Greek words: one meaning ability or authority and
           the other meaning force.

Our AUTHORITY comes from Jesus and what he has done:

JOH 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

MAT 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

1PET 3:22 Who(Jesus) is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

EPH 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, EPH 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

REV 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1COR 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if

the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the
     smallest matters?
1COR 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things
     that pertain to this life?

LUK 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and

scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by
     any means hurt you.

MAT 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven:

and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

ROM 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Our POWER or FORCE comes from the Holy Spirit:

MAT 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

ACT 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come

upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in
all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Both the authority and the force work together:

LUK 4:36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying,

What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the
unclean spirits, and they come out.

LUK 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

REV 12:11 And they overcame him(Satan) by the blood of the Lamb,

and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives
     unto the death.

The blood of the Lamb is the blood shed by Jesus to
fulfill the law and to cover our sins. With this
blood-covering on our lives the accuser cannot touch us.
This is the authority that is given us over the
           enemy by Jesus.
The testimony of Jesus, which we and our brothers
and sisters have, is the spirit of prophesy according to
REV 19:10. In this lies the power of the word of God, which
the Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance(JOH 14:26). The
scriptures are very powerful and important to spiritual
warfare as they are applied by the Holy Spirit. We are
clothed with them and our faith in them is our shield.

The armor given to us by God for engaging the spirits:

EPH 6:13-18 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye

may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on
the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
     perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Being covered with the sanctifying blood of Christ,
and wearing our spiritual armour is by far the most
important part for victory in the many spiritual
battles we are involved in every day.

There are at least five scriptural things we can do:

REBUKE (especially with the Word of God):

JUD 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he

disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a
railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

MAT 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
MAT 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
MAT 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. MAT 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by

bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of
     God.
MAT 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth
him on a pinnacle of the temple,
MAT 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself
down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning
thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time
thou dash thy foot against a stone.
MAT 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt
     the Lord thy God.
MAT 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high
mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the
     glory of them;
MAT 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou
wilt fall down and worship me.
MAT 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is
written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou
     serve.

BIND:

MAT 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven:

and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and
whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

MAT 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth

shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth
     shall be loosed in heaven.

REV 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. REV 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

CAST:

MAR 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

MAT 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

REV 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. REV 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, REV 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and

set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till
the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be
     loosed a little season.

LUK 10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. LUK 10:18 And he(Jesus) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

BRUISE and TREAD:

GEN 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between

thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt
     bruise his heel.

ROM 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

LUK 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and

scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by
     any means hurt you.
LUK 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are
subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written
     in heaven.

WRESTLE:

EPH 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against

principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The key to understanding your spiritual authority:

After Jesus had sent the seventy out to prepare the
the places he would come to, they returned with testimonies
of the authority of Jesus's name over all the devils.
And this is what Jesus said unto the Father:

LUK 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank

thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these
things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes:
even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

LUK 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man

knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but
the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
We must not be wise and prudent with God or the understanding
that he gives us. But in our childish love, innocence, and
obedience the Son will reveal aspects of the Father, and
the Father's treasures and power, to us as they are needed.
