How You Can Know the Messiah

by Dr. Michael Schiffman

  1. Recognize G-d loves you and wants you to have peace.
"I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have
drawn you with loving-kindness" (Jeremiah 31:3).

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the
L-rd, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans
to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call
upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to
you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me
with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:11-13).

2. Recognize that it is our own sins that separate us from G-d.

"Surely the arm of the L-rd is not too short to save,
nor His ear too dull to hear.

          But your iniquities have separated you from your G-d;
your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He
          will not hear" (Isaiah 59:1-2).

3. Recognize the need for atonement through sacrifice.

"For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I
have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves
on the altar; IT IS THE BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT FOR
          ONE'S LIFE" (Leviticus 17:11).

Without the Beit HaMikdash, the Temple, there can be no

sacrifice. G-d commanded that once the temple mount was designated as the place of worship, all our sacrifices were to be brought there. Yet G-d in His mercy has not left us without atonement.

4. Recognize that Yeshua (Jesus) became our atonement according

to the plan of G-d.

"Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our
sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken by G-d, smitten
          by Him and afflicted.

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was
crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought
us peace was upon Him, and by his wounds we are healed.

                                                         We all
like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to
his own way; and the L-rd has laid on Him the iniquity
          of us all" (Isaiah 53:4-6).

"He sacrificed for their sins once for all when He
          offered Himself" (Hebrews 7:27).

5. Receive Yeshua into your life through prayer.

(sample prayer)

L-rd G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
I acknowledge your love for me. I confess that I have
sinned. Forgive me for my sins. Help me to turn from
my sins and live as you want me to.
L-rd Yeshua, please come into my life and be my
Messiah and L-rd, and help me to walk with you.
          Amen.N81N ......................... ... ...-....1200 N81N ....................
