Ingredients:
Bread
2 Eggs, beaten
1/2 Cup(s) Cream
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1 Dash(s) Nutmeg
Maple syrup
1/4 Cup(s) Vegetable oil
Powdered sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to hot (400°F). Use bread that is very dry -- 2 or 3
daysold. Cut 3 slices of bread, 3/4 inch thick. Trim crusts and cut
acrossdiagonally to make 6 triangles. In a bowl, beat eggs until light
andfrothy. Add cream, salt and nutmeg. Soak bread, a few pieces at a
timeso they absorb egg-cream mixture thoroughly. In skillet, heat 1/4
cupcooking oil. Fry bread on both sides until golden. Remove bread
anddrain on paper towel to absorb any grease. Place on baking sheet
andallow to puff up in the hot oven for 3 to 5 minutes. Sprinkle
