Ingredients:
2 Granny Smith or other
Cooking Apples
peeledcored
sliced
3 Cup(s) Water
1/3 Cup(s) Brown sugar
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1/4 Teaspoon(s) Nutmeg
1 Teaspoon(s) Chopped candied ginger

1 1/2 Cup(s) Old-fashioned rolled oats
2 Tablespoon(s) Flax seeds, coarsely ground
1 Cup(s) Evaporated milk or soy milk
Directions:
In a large pot, combine apples, water, sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg,
and ginger, if using. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring
occasionally. Add oats and flax seeds. Reduce heat to medium-high and
cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 7 minutes, until thickened. Stir
