Ingredients:
3/4 Cup(s) Sifted flour
1/4 Teaspoon(s) SODA
1/4 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1/3 Cup(s) Shortening
1/2 Cup(s) Sugar
2 Tablespoon(s) Water
1 6-oz semi-sweet chocolate
chips
1 Teaspoon(s) Vanilla
2 Eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 Cup(s) Chopped walnuts
1/4 Cup(s) bourbon
1/2 Cup(s) Margarine
2 Cup(s) Powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon(s) Butter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325ø. Sift together flour, soda and salt.
Heatshortening with sugar and water until sugar is dissolved. Stir
invanilla, add chocolate chips and continue to stir over heat
untilchocolate is melted. Add slightly beaten eggs. Gradually add
thismixture to the flour mixture. Blend well. Add walnuts. Spread into
agreased 9x9 pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Pour bourbon over
browniesevenly. Cool to room temperature. Frost with white frosting.
Chill.Spread chocolate glaze over white frosting. Cool before cutting
intosquares. To make white frosting, cream butter and powdered sugar.
Addvanilla. For chocolate glaze, heat chocolate chips and butter
togetherover low heat. DO NOT let this mixture overheat. Yield: 15
