Ingredients:
4 Cooking onions, thinly
sliced
2 Tablespoon(s) Butter
1 To 2 tbsp. brown sugar
4 Teaspoon(s) Balsamic vinegar or water
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300øF. Spread onions in a roasting pan or
rectangularbaking dish. Dot with butter; sprinkle with brown sugar,
balsamicvinegar, salt and pepper. Cover tightly; bake for 50 to 60
minutes,stirring once. This can be stored in refrigerator up to 5 days.
Servehot or cold or as below. Makes about 2 cupsUse as: a pizza
topping an accompaniment to sautéed liver, sausage orother meats a
hamburger condiment an addition to spinach or othervegetables for extra
