Recipe Name: Friendship Tea Submitted by: Administrator
Source: Source Description:
Ethnicity: Last Modified: 2/23/2014
Base: Beverages Comments:
Preparation Time:
Number of Servings: 48

2 Cup(s) Tang orange drink powder
1 1/2 Cup(s) Instant tea granules
1 1/4 Cup(s) Sugar
1 Teaspoon(s) Lemon Koolaid powder
1 Teaspoon(s) Ground cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Ground cloves

Mix ingredients thoroughly. To serve, dissolve 2 to 3 teaspoons in a
cupof boiling water.NOTES : If you've got a bad 'cold', this is just
the ticket. A shot ofbrandy or whiskey (for adults!) goes well, too,
if you're going to crawlunder the covers for the day. The name
'Friendship Tea' is becauseyou're supposed to mix up a large batch and
store in several small jars;then when one of your friends is ill, you
take them the tea mixture(with a copy of the recipe) to make them feel
better! My grandmother(in her 80's) and a neighbor (in her 60's) both
remember Friendship Teaduring the 40's, though this must be a newer
recipe because of the Tang?I thought that was invented for astronauts
in the 60's...then again, itcould have been false advertising. Recipe
