Ingredients:
1 Cup(s) All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup(s) Cornmeal
1/4 Cup(s) Sugar
1 Tablespoon(s) Double-acting baking powder
1 Teaspoon(s) Baking soda
1 Egg
1 1/3 Cup(s) Buttermilk
3 Tablespoon(s) Butter, melted
Directions:

Stir together dry ingredients. Separately, beat together egg, milk,
andbutter. Pour liquid ingredients into dry; stir only to moisten.
Pourimmediately into buttered 8" square pan. Bake at 425 degrees for
30minutes.NOTES : Delicious variation to serve with barbecue: add 2
tablespoonsfinely chopped jalapeno pepper (seeded, of course) to batter
