Ingredients:
2 Cup(s) Flour
3 Teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1 Cup(s) Sugar
1/2 Cup(s) Shortening
3 Eggs, beaten
2/3 Cup(s) Milk
1 Teaspoon(s) Vanilla
Brown sugar
3 Tablespoon(s) Butter
1 16 oz. sliced pineapple
1 Jar maraschino cherries
Whipped cream
Directions:
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In
anotherbowl, cream the sugar and shortening; add eggs. Add milk
alternatelywith the dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Add vanilla and
mix well.Grease a 10 inch round cake pan and line with brown sugar,
about 1/2inch deep. Dot with butter. In the pan, place slices of
pineapple with aamaraschino cherry in center of each. Pour the cake
batter over themixture in the pan. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes. Turn out
onto plate andserve hot with whipped cream topped with cherries.Recipe
